On the eve of our journey and only weeks after celebrating my 50th, Mat’s words (from close to 4 years ago now) humourously echo – the proclamation of – “I think we should retire at 50!”…”your 50th that is!”. You see, I have 5 1/2 years experience on him; however he’s got it all figured out.
Unbeknown to us at the time, this manifestation collectively began to take shape as we built on skills that we have some passion for and can take to the road…myself, as a teacher aide and yoga instructor and Mat in aircraft engineering and skydiving. Perfect blends and paradoxes all around. Skills aside we will and have always given anything a go and more than happily so.
By no means are we in the position to retire as we know it; nevertheless, we are in the position to step back for a moment in time and see what unfolds, what doors open and how we can switch off to the demands of every day life and get back to basics (which is not the same as basics 10 years ago)…but simple and simply living.
Mat often says don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story…(as did Mark Twain) (we were / are all witty too).
Join us for the journey, it’s sure to be entertaining.
